Why you’ll love it
It’s a dip with pepperoni pizza flavors. I don’t think I have to too do much to convince you that this cheesy hot dip is going to be a hit at your next party or sports get-together! I’m fond of creative twists on pizza (like my Pizza Pasta Bake), and this is so simple.
We’ve got a few pantry ingredients like garlic powder, three kinds of cheese, and of course lots of pepperoni. It’s absolutely delicious to dunk a slice of fresh crusty bread in. It’s always piping hot too (unlike that lukewarm pizza you get from delivery sometimes).
What you’ll need
- Cream cheese – the rich, creamy base
- Parmesan – it’s just so good on pizza
- Garlic powder – to infuse savory deliciousness
- Oregano – a staple in my spice rack for herby flavor to complement the tomatoes
- Pizza sauce – it goes without saying, but use one you really enjoy!
- Mozzarella – for that irresistible cheese pull
- Pepperoni – classic meaty goodness

Pro tip
Grating your own parmesan is important for a recipe like this for the best taste and texture. The kind in a canister just won’t work out as well as fresh from a block!
How to make pepperoni pizza dip
This is an overview with step-by-step photos. Full ingredients & instructions are in the recipe card below.

Preheat the oven. Add the cream cheese to a microwave-safe prep bowl, then heat until softened. To the same bowl, stir in the parmesan, garlic powder, oregano, and some salt & pepper. Pour the mixture into a baking dish, and spread it evenly.

Add the pizza sauce on top. Top with the mozzarella, followed by the pepperoni. Bake, uncovered, until hot and bubbly. You can broil (carefully) if you wish. Let it cool a bit, then top with fresh basil if using and serve as suggested below.

- Here’s my Staub oval baking dish. It’s oven safe and looks pretty to serve the dip right from it.
- Grate the parm with a Microplane zester so it’s nice and fluffy.
- Be sure to use silicone oven mitts and clean up with Dawn PowerWash.
Substitutions and variations
- Try mini pepperoni for a fun twist!
- You could swap the pepperoni with other toppings like cooked crumbled Italian sausage and/or Cooked Bacon.

What to serve with hot pizza dip
- There are endless pairings! My go-to is sliced baguette/fresh crusty bread.
- Veggies (cucumber sticks, carrots, celery, etc.), crostini, thick-cut potato chips, crackers, pita bread, etc. all work as well.
- Your party will be complete with these Frozen Margaritas.
Leftovers and storage
- Reheat leftover pizza dip in a foil-covered oven-safe dish until warmed through. You could try microwaving it in intervals, but it wouldn’t be my first choice for reheating.
- I don’t recommend freezing this one because the texture of the cooked cheese will get weird.
