Why you’ll love it

I’d recommend my buttery Easy Garlic Sauteed Mushrooms to anyone, but sometimes using an air fryer is just way more convenient! These air fryer mushrooms have plenty of savory flavor from onion and garlic powder, and they’re finished with fresh parmesan.

I think these bad boys are a particularly good topping with steak, but they go with pretty much any main, and we’ve got tons of suggestions below! These air fried mushrooms have that tender, meaty texture you crave with a lightly crisped up exterior. Delicious.

What you’ll need

  • Mushrooms – use cremini (sometimes labeled as “baby bellas”) or white mushrooms
  • Olive oil – it adds moisture and conducts heat for even browning
  • Garlic powder and onion powder – two pantry staples to infuse lots of flavor
  • Parmesan – always grate your own for best meltability and taste
  • Parsley – totally optional, but I like the fresh herb contrast

Helpful tips

  • As air fryers can vary, err on the side of less time when making these for the first time. You can always pop them back in if they need to be cooked a little more!
  • Air fryers need the air to circulate for the best results, so work in batches if you’re doubling or tripling the recipe.

Leftovers and storage

  • You can store leftovers in the fridge for a few days.
  • Reheat at 350F in the air fryer for a couple of minutes, spreading them out evenly.
  • I don’t recommend freezing these as the texture is liable to change.
